Photos: Westlake girls keep rolling in playoffs with win over rival Lake Travis

From Staff Reports

DRIPPING SPRINGS – The Westlake girls pulled off another upset win Tuesday evening, this time against their bitter rival.

The Chaparrals (14-4-2) knocked out Lake Travis 2-1 in a Class 6A-Region IV quarterfinal at Tiger Stadium in Dripping Springs to advance to this weekend’s regional tournament at the Blossom Center in San Antonio.

The Cavaliers were the third-sthiraight, high-profile opponent Westlake has defeated in the playoffs, which includes Westwood and San Antonio Johnson.

Georgia Millikin and Margaret Barton scored the Chaparrals goals, while goalkeeper Sophia Martin came up with 12 saves with only Breckyn Ferrell’s goal before halftime being the only blemish on a near clean sheet.
