Playoff races heat up as several Austin-area teams can clinch playoff berths this week. Here are this week’s Austin Sprots Journal Friday Night Stars of the Week and helmet sticker recipients. 

Friday Night Star of the Week  

Kaden Stefek, Hutto 

The senior quarterback was nearly flawless, completing 15 of 22 passes for 278 yards and five touchdowns in a statement win over Stony Point. His poise and precision helped the Hippos secure a playoff spot.  

Small Town Friday Night Star of the Week  

Wyatt Lorenzen, Johnson City  

The junior quarterback lit up the scoreboard with 236 passing yards and five touchdowns on just 10 completions in a 49-point outburst over Holland. His efficient performance powered the Eagles’ dominant win as they continued to roll through district play. 

Helmet stickers 

Joesph Travis, Jarrell: The junior rushef for 182 yards on 12 carries (15.2 yards per carry) and scored three touchdowns in the Cougars’ loss to Wimberley.  

Maverick Jacobs, Wimberley: The senior running back rushed for 143 yards on 20 carries (7.2 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Texans’ win over Jarrell.  

Khrisshawn Bruyan, Austin Eastside: The Junior running back rushed for 102 yards on 10 carries (10.2 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Northeast.  

Aiden Ilai, McCallum: The junior quarterback rushed for 166 yards on 17 carries (9.8 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Knights’ win over Connally.  

Cooper Hensley, McCallum: The senior running back rushed for 142 yards on 25 carries (5.7 ypc) and scored two touchdowns against Connally.  

Weston Nielsen, Bastrop: The junior quarterback threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns against Austin Navarro, completing 8 of 10 pass attempts with one interception.  

Carter Buck, Lake Travis: The senior defensive lineman had five tackles, including two sacks in the Cavaliers’ win over Dripping Springs.  

Marquis Murry II, LBJ: The junior running back rushed for 115 yards on five carries (23 ypc) and scored four touchdowns in the Jaguars’ win over Austin Achieve.  

Dylan Belinga, Liberty Hill: The junior running back rushed for 210 yards on 16 carries (13.1 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Pflugerville.  

Jack Pitchford, Liberty Hill: The senior running back rushed for 122 yards on three carries (40.7 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Pflugerville.  

Chris Brown, Canyon Lake: The senior running back rushed for 95 yards on 12 carries (7.9 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Hawks’ win over Uvalde.  

Trey Atchley, Blanco: The senior running back rushed for 145 yards on eight carries (18.1 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Thrall.  

Colten Kuebel, Blanco: The senior running back rushed for 145 yards on 14 carries (10.4 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Thrall.  

Jack Devine, Regents: The junior quarterback threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns in the Knights’ win over Brentwood Christian, completing 15 of 23 pass attempts without an interception.  

Cash Lancaster, Comal Pieper: The senior wide receiver caught six passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ win over New Braunfels.  

Heston Hohenberger, Johnson City: The sophomore running back ran for 171 yards on 10 carries (17.1 ypc) and scored one touchdown in the Eagles’ win over Holland.  

David Cooper, Cedar Park: The junior quarterback threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns in the Timberwolves’ win over Glenn, completing 12 of 16 pass attempts without an interception.  

Jamal Porter, Cedar Park: The senior wide receiver caught three passes, all touchdowns, for 125 yards in the Timberwolves’ win over Glenn.  

CJ Rogers, Cedar Park: The sophomore defensive back had 13 tackles and a pass deflection in the Timberwolves win over Glenn.  

London Morgan, Rouse: The senior quarterback threw for 231 yards and thew five touchdown passes in the Raiders’ win over Killeen Chaparral, completing 21 of 25 pass attempts without an interception.  

Jaxon Schad, Weiss: The sophomore quarterback threw for 222 yards and five touchdowns in the Wolves’ win over Lockhart, completing 12 of 17 pass attempts.  

Jeremiah Nicholson, Elgin: The senior running back ran for 201 yards on 17 carriesd (11.8 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Wildcats’ win over Crockett.  

Jay Fulmer, Anderson: The junior wide receiver caught five passes for 127 yards and scored two touchdowns in the Trojans’ win over Cedar Creek.
