DRIPPING SPRINGS – Meredith Koltz scored her 30th goal of the season Tuesday in the second half of Cedar Park’s Class 5A Division II regional final.
It just so happens that her goal was the one to send the TImberwolves back to the UIL state semifinals for the first time in 12 years.
Cedar Park (23-2-1) defeated Pieper 1-0 at Tiger Stadium in Dripping Springs in a back and forth battle between the two best teams in Region IV.

Pieper’s resilient defense, led by senior Kathleen Pollom, kept the Timberwolves at bay through 50 minutes of action. Koltz, a senior, finally broke through the Warriors’ wall and put a gem past goalkeeper Olivia Flores.
Cedar Park will face Mount Belvieu Barbers Hill (24-3-2) in the semifinals Friday at College Station High School. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. Should the Timberwolves win Friday, it will be the first time since 2001 Cedar Park has played in a girls soccer state championship game.
