Glenn’s Jesse Letts voted Austin Sports Journal’s Volleyball Player of the Week

For the second week in-a-row, a player from Glenn has taken home Austin Sports Journal’s Volleyball Player of the Week honors.

Outside hitter Jesse Letts was voted the Austin Sports Journal Austin-area Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 2-7.

With 43.7% of the vote, Letts edged out Vista Ridge’s Jennavee Jensen by 27 votes for the honor. Vandegrift’s Jenna Hehman took third with 11.3% of the vote. Liberty Hill’s Taylor Gaines (2.2%) and Cedar Park’s Joy Udoye (1.9$) were also up for the honor.

Letts, a senior, had back-to-back double doubles in the Grizzlies’ two wins this past week. Against St. Michael’s on Sept. 7, she had 18 kills and 11 digs, along with 2 aces. On Tuesday in Glenn’s win over East View, she had 16 kills and 15 digs, as well as two aces.

The Austin Sports Journal allows readers to vote each week for the football and volleyball players of the week throughout the season.
