Longtime Leander ISD athletic director and coach Jonathan Lamb is taking a similar role at a neighboring school district.
Pflugerville Independent School District announced Friday afternoon that Lamb was hired as the district’s new athletic director. Lamb replaces Mike McEachern, who has served as Pflugerville ISD’s athletic director since 2022.
“Jonathan Lamb steps into the role of athletic director with a wealth of experience from his tenure as senior director of athletics at Leander ISD. Mr. Lamb has demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing large-scale athletic programs, achieving numerous state championships and enhancing professional development for coaches. His strategic approach and dedication to student-athlete development align with PfISD’s commitment to excellence in athletics,” the district said in a statement.
Lamb is a former girls basketball coach at Leander High School. He was named athletic director for Leander ISD in 2020, taking over for Jody Horman.
Lamb said on X that he was excited for the new opportunity.
Leander ISD assistant athletic director Jennifer Womack will serve as athletic director until a replacement is found.
