Below is the 2024 Austin Sports Journal’s All-Austin Metro girls track and field award winners and teams.
The All-Austin Metro track and field teams were selected by classification, with a combined team for Class 4A and below. Each team consists of two sprinters, two relay teams, two mid-distance/distance runners, two hurdlers and five field event athletes.
Awards were selected regardless of classification.
Miss Austin Track and Field
Isabel Conde de Frankenberg, Cedar Park, senior
Isabel Conde de Frankenbert left a legacy with the Timberwolves track and field program.
In her final high school track and field season, the Oregon-bound distance runner from Cedar Park capped her successful high school career with a gold and silver medal at the UIL state track and field meet earlier this month. Frankenberg won the state championship in the Class 5A 80- meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 7.1 seconds, passing Lucas Lovejoy’s Kailey Littlefield on the final lap.
Later that evening, Frankenberg battled Boerne Champion phenomenon Elizabeth Leachman in the 1,600Leachman broke Frankenberg’s Class 5A record set in 2022 by four seconds, while Frankenberg settled for the silver medal.
Frankenberg finished her high school career with three gold medals and two silver medals.

Rising Star Award
Bethany Perusse, Thorndale, freshman Â
Thorndale’s freshman thrower had a remarkable debut season. Perusse qualified for UIL state track and field meet in both the discus and the shot put in her freshman year.
She won the Class 2A-Region IV championship in the discus by almost 11 feet, with a throw of 145 feet, 9 inches. That throw made her the favorite in the event at the state meet but ended up taking home silver as rainy weather conditions impacted distances for all nine competitors. Perusse will likely win gold in the event in the future.
She was also the wild card entrant in the shot put where she finished eighth. Perusse took home bronze in the event at the regional championships.

Editor’s note: Unlike other All-Austin Metro teams where players are only eligible if it is their first varsity season, the Rising Star Award for track and field goes to freshman and sophomore athletes making their first appearance at the UIL state meet.
All-Austin Metro Teams
Class 6A
Relays
Westwood 4×100 (relay members: Addy Sanderville, Violet Hewett, Vivian Garcia and Kenzie McElroy): Finished fourth in the girls Division II race at the Texas Relays and qualified for the state meet, where they finished eighth.
Round Rock 4×400 (relay members: Ivy Parada, Meredith Wolfe, Mia Lousma and Lexi Rogers): Qualified for the finals of the girls Division II race at the Texas Relays and qualified for the state meet in the event, placing eighth.
Sprinters
Kelly Ufodiama, Cedar Ridge senior: A state qualifier in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, won the regional championship in the 100 and finished second in the 200.
Emily Royce, Westlake senior: A state qualifier in the 100, won silver in the 100 at regionals and bronze in the 200.
Mid-distance, distance
Emma Wade, Vista Ridge junior: Won bronze at the Texas Relays in the girls 1,600 and silver in the event at the state track and field meet, where she also qualified in the 6A girls 3,200.
Faith Murphy, Anderson freshman: Won silver in the 800 and gold in the event at the regional championships.
Hurdles
Lyla Walter, Cedar Ridge senior: A regional qualifier in the 100 hurdles, where she placed fifth.
Ellie Grigsby, Bowie senior: A regional qualifier in the 100 hurdles, where she placed seventh.
Field events
Keona Bendord, Vandegrift, freshman: A state qualifier in the high jump, Bendord also won regional silver in the event.
Kenzie McElroy, Westwood, senior: The Yale-bound long jumper and sprinter was a state qualifier and regional silver medalist in the long jump.
Aubrey Griffin, Stony Point senior: The Illinois State-bound pole vaulter was the regional champion and bronze medalist in the pole vault.
Summer Wheeler, Lake Travis freshman: Qualified for the state meet in the pole vault and was the regional silver medalist in her first varsity season.
Naomi Ofunrein, Stony Point senior: State qualifier and regional silver medalist in the shot put.
Class 5A
Relays
Cedar Park 4×400 (relay members: Avery Allmer, Addison Simon, Concetta Shackett and Isabel Conde de Frankenberg): Finished third at regionals in the event and qualified for the Texas Relays.
East View 4×400 (relay members: Grace Diarrak Roane Lion, Ainsley Boff and Peace Ese): Finished fourth in the Class 5A-Region III championships
Sprinters
Rakaia Walker, Lockhart junior: A state qualifier in the 100 and 200. She was a regional gold medalist in the 200 and a silver medalist in the 100.
Cameryn Wilson, Liberty Hill junior: A regional qualifier in the 100 where she finished fourth.
Mid-distance, distance
Melia Flowers, Georgetown sophomore: A regional qualifier in the 1,600 where she finished 10th.
Cassie Rivera, Hendrickson senior: A regional qualifier in the 1,600 and 800. She finished fifth in the 1,600 and 11th in the 800.
Hurdles
Addison Simon, Cedar Park sophomore: A state qualifier and regional champion in the 300 hurdles, while also a regional qualifier in the 100 hurdles.
Jade Selmon, Lockhart junior: A state qualifier and regional semifinalist in the 100 hurdles.
Field events
Lily Muzzy, Georgetown senior: State and regional champion in the triple jump and state qualifier and regional silver medalist in the long jump. She also ran as part of Georgetown’s regional qualifying relay teams.
Tyla Street, Rouse junior: Regional champion and state qualifier in the triple jump and a regional qualifier in the long jump.
Endia Stigall, Hays sophomore: Regional bronze medalist in the long jump and triple jump.
Ava Roberts, Pflugerville senior: State qualifier and regional bronze medalist in the shot put and was a regional qualifier in the discus.
Avery Berger, Georgetown junior: A regional qualifier in the pole vault where she finished fifth.
Class 4A & below
Relays
Thrall 4×100 (relay members: Avery Koonce, Kassandra Jackson, Melaina Grissom, Nevaeh Irvin): Regional qualifier where they finished fourth.
Jarrell 4×200 (relay members: team members were unavailable): Regional qualifier where they finished fourth.
Sprinters
Avery Koonce, Thrall senior: State qualifer in the 100 and 200, and a regional silver medalist in both events.
Kayden Edwards, Jarrell sophomore: Regional qualifier in both the 100 and 200.
Mid-distance, distance
Raven Sandoval, Thorndale freshman: Regional qualifier in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
Kaitlin Wilson, Giddings junior: Regional bronze medalist in the 3,200 and regional qualifier in the 1,600.
Hurdles
Macie Collier, La Grange freshman: A regional bronze medalist in the 300 hurdles and a regional qualifer in the 100 hurdles.
Baylee Gold, Wimberley senior: State qualifier and regional champion in the 100 hurdles.
Field events
Melaina Grissom, Thrall senior: State qualifier in the long jump and triple jump. She was a regional bronze medalist in the long jump and silver medalist in the triple jump. Grissom also qualifier for regionals in the high jump.
Kaylon Metcalf, Giddings senior: State silver medalist and regional champion in the shot put, while being a regional qualifier in the discus.
Lilah Smith, Lago Vista sophomore: State qualifier and regional silver medalist in the pole vault.
Avery Koonce, Thrall senior: A regional bronze medalist in the pole vault, as well as her aforementioned running events.
Baylee Gold, Wimberley senior: A regional qualifier in the triple jump where she finished sixth.
