Westwood claims final playoff spot from 25-6A; Bowie can clinch today

The 2024 Texas high school baseball regular season ended on Friday. Several teams already had determined their playoff fate, while some jockeyed for position and claimed district titles.
Westwood clinched the final playoff spot in District 25-6A; while Cedar Park claimed a share of the District 25-5A title by beating Rouse on Friday at home.
In District 26-6A, Bowie can claim the final playoff spot with a win over Del Valle at the Toney Burger Center.
Here’s how the playoff picture looks after Friday’s games for each of the Austin area districts:
District 12-6A
Harker Heights defeated Weiss to claim the No. 2 seed.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Waco Midway, 2. Harker Heights, 3. Weiss, 4. Temple
District 25-6A
Westwood defeated Vandegrift 6-4 on Friday to claim the final playoff berth from the district.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Vista Ridge, 2. Round Rock, 3. Cedar Ridge, 4. Westwood.
District 26-6A
A few Saturday games on Saturday could shake up seeding, should Johnson beat Lake Travis and Del Valle beats Bowie. The Bulldogs are in with a win over Del Valle and will have the No. 4 seed. If Bowie loses, the Bulldogs will be tied with Westlake for the final playoff spot. Should Johnson beat Lake Travis, the Cavs will be tied with Dripping Springs for the district championships and No. 1 seed.

District 27-6A
New Braunfels defeated San Marcos on Friday to win the district championship.
Playoff seeding: Champion – New Braunfels, 2. San Marcos, 3. Cibolo Steele, 4. Schertz Clemens
District 23-5A
Elgin claimed the No. 2 seed on Friday with a win over Hendrickson.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Georgetown, 2. Elgin, 3. Hendrickson, 4. East View
District 24-5A
Crockett claimed the No. 2 seed on Friday with a win over LBJ.
Playoff seeding: Champion – McCallum, 2. Crockett, 3. LASA, 4. Navarro
District 25-5A
Cedar Park and Liberty Hill both won on Friday and will share the district title. A playoff is needed to determine seeding.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Cedar Park/Liberty Hill, 2. Cedar Park/Liberty Hill, 3. Rouse, 4. Hays
District 22-4A
Giddings and La Grange finished tied for third place, but the Buffaloes hold the tiebreaker since they swept the regular season series with the Leopards.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Caldwell, 2. Taylor, 3. Giddings, 4. La Grange
District 24-4A
Burnet, Gateway and Lago Vista already claimed playoff spots before Friday’s finales. Jarrell won its third straight with a sweep over Marble Falls.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Burnet, 2. Gateway, 3. Lago Vista, 4. Jarrell
District 27-4A
Thorndale clinched the district championship on Friday with a win over Chilton and finished one-game ahead of Thrall.
Playoff seeding: Champion – Thorndale, 2. Thrall, 3. Holland, 4. Rosebud-Lott
