Anderson jumps to No. 4; McCallum joins Class 5A-4A rankings

Giddings (10-0-3) and Round Rock (9-0-3) remain the only undefeated teams in the Greater Austin Metro area. The Lady Dragons kept the No. 1 spot in the On the Sidelines Sports weekly girls soccer rankings in Class 6A, while Giddings jumps to No. 2 and is on the heels of Georgetown, which remained No. 1.

Anderson flip flops with Lake Travis after the Lady Trojans’ convincing 3-0 win over Dripping Springs on Tuesday. The Lady Cavaliers lost to Bowie last week but beat Austin High.

McCallum knocked off Ann Richards on Tuesday in a 1-0 decision. The Lady Knights take the No. 5 spot in our Class 5A-4A rankings.

Class 6A Power 5

1. Round Rock (9-0-3)

The Lady Dragons remained undefeated with wins over Cedar Ridge and McNeil. Round Rock hasn’t given up a goal in its last five games.

2.  Westwood (8-2-2)

Goalkeeper Sam Walker had her third and fourth shutout in Westwood’s last five games last week. The Lady Warriors beat Manor 9-0 and Stony Point 2-0.

3. Vista Ridge (9-2-3)

Vista Ridge picked up wins over Vandegrift and Manor last week and is 4-1-1 in District 25-6A play.

4. Anderson (8-1-1)

The Lady Trojans are on a role and picked up a convincing 3-0 win over Dripping Springs on Tuesday and beat Del Valle 8-0 this past Friday.

5. Lake Travis (8-2-0)

Lake Travis lost its first district game last week, a 2-1 decision to Bowie. The Lady Cavaliers defeated Austin High 2-1 on Friday. Brecklyn Ferrell scored one of those goals and assisted the other.

Class 5A/4A Power 5
1. Georgetown (10-1-3)

Georgetown tied with Hendrickson on Friday and then rebounded with a dominating 6-0 win over Cedar Creek on Tuesday.

2. Giddings (10-0-3)

Goalkeeper Faith Zoch has yet to allow a goal in District 24-4A action and has eight shutouts so far this season for the Lady Buffaloes.

3. Cedar Park (8-0-3)

The Lady Timberwolves had two shutouts last week with 4-0 wins against both Hays and Glenn.

4. Leander (12-1-0)

The Lady Lions blasted Lehman with 18 goals in a dominating performance against Lehman Tuesday and beat Glenn 2-0 on Friday.

5. McCallum (10-2-1)

The Lady Knights beat Ann Richards 1-0 on Tuesday and picked up a 5-0 win over Crockett on Friday. McCallum is 7-0-1 in District 24-5A and has allowed just two goals in eight district games.
