Here are On the Sidelines’ Sports top five high school girls basketball teams in Class 6A, Class 5A and Class 4A-below in the Greater Austin Metro Area.

Class 6A

Class 6A notes

For the first time all season, the No. 1 team in the On the Sidelines Sports Austin Metro Class 6A Power 5 is not Westlake. Bowie’s upset of the Lady Chaps leapfrogs the Lady bulldogs over Vista Ridge and into the No. 1 spot. Westlake falls to No. 2 and pushes Vista Ridge to No. 3. The Lady Rangers won its fifth straight district championship on Friday with their win over Vandegrift. Lake Travis remains at No. 4 and Vandegrift remains at No. 5.

Class 5A notes

McCallum joins the ranks this week and takes over the No. 5 spot from Navarro. The Lady Knights, who swept Navarro in the regular season, claimed a share of the District 24-5A championship on Friday and can win it outright on Tuesday with a win over Ann Richards. That was the only change as the top four teams remained the same.

Class 4A-1A

Class 4A-1A notes

There was no movement in our Class 4A-1A Austin Metro Power 5. Taylor and Thrall claimed district titles last week and Wimberley clinched a playoff spot. Jarrell is still in the 24-4A district title picture but will need to win on Tuesday and hope last-place Lago Vista upsets Burnet.
