Twenty-seven teams in the Greater Austin metro area have already claimed their postseason tickets. There’s still one in 24-5A, two in 22-4A and one in 27-2A that have yet to be claimed.

The 2023-24 Texas high school girls basketball regular season ends Tuesday, when some may be determined then, while tiebreakers may be needed for others or to determine playoff seedings. Tiebreakers can be decided by a coin toss or district playoff game.

Bi-district playoff games will begin on Monday, Feb. 12.

Here is the playoff outlook for each of the 11 districts in the Greater Austin metro area going into the regular season finales.

Class 6A

District 12-6A

District champion: Bryan can force a tie with Waco Midway with a win Tuesday against Harker Heights.

Who’s in: Waco Midway, Bryan, Harker Heights, Hutto

Seeding: Should Harker Heights lose to Bryan, Hutto and the Lady Knights will have a playoff for the No. 3 seed, while Bryan and Waco Midway will have a playoff for the No. 1 seed.

District 25-6A

District champion: Vista Ridge will win title outright with a win Tuesday against Manor.

Who’s in: Vista Ridge, Vandegrift, Cedar Ridge, Round Rock

Seeding: Vista Ridge will claim the No. 1 seed with a win over Manor. The winner of Tuesday’s Cedar Ridge-Vandegrift game will claim the No. 2 seed, while Round Rock will be the No. 4 seed.

District 26-6A

District champion: If Westlake beats Johnson and Bowie beats Lake Travis on Tuesday, The Lady Dawgs and Lady Chaps will share the district championship.

Who’s in: Westlake, Bowie, Lake Travis, Austin High

Seeding: The only seeding that will need to be figured out is the No. 1 seed if the district championship ends in a tie. Lake Travis will be the No. 3 seed and play the winner of Cedar Ridge-Vandegrift in the first round. Austin High will be the No. 4 seed and likely play Vista Ridge.  

District 27-6A

District champion: If both Cibolo Steele and Converse Judson win on Tuesday, the Lady Knights and Lady Rockets will share the district title. 

Who’s in: Converse Judson, Cibolo Steele, San Antonio East Central, San Marcos

Seeding: Steele and Judson split its regular season series 1-1. If Steele beats East Central and Judson beats San Marcos on Tuesday, they will play a playoff for the No. 1 seed. East Central is the No. 2 seed and San Marcos is the No. 4 seed.

Class 5A

District 23-5A

District champion: Hendrickson.

Who’s in: Hendrickson, Georgetown, Pflugerville, East View

Seeding: Hendrickson and Georgetown are the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively. If Pflugerville beats Connally or East View loses to Hendrickson on Tuesday, the Lady Panthers will claim the No. 3 seed and East View will be the No. 4 seed. If East View upsets Hendrickson and Pflugerville loses, the Lady Patriots and Lady Panthers will have a playoff for the No. 3 seed.

District 24-5A

District champion: McCallum can win the district title outright with a win over Ann Richards on Tuesday.  If the Lady Knights lose and Navarro beats Eastside, the district title will be split between McCallum and Navarro.

Who’s in: McCallum, Navarro, Austin LASA

Seeding:  Crockett prevented Ann Richards from clinching a playoff berth on Tuesday with a 40-38 overtime win over the Stars. Should Ann Richards lose to McCallum on Tuesday and Crockett beats Northeast, the Stars and Cougars will play a playoff for the final playoff ticket from 24-5A. McCallum can claim the No. 1 seed with a win over Ann Richards, which would make Navarro the No. 2 seed. Austin LASA is guaranteed the No. 3 seed and a matchup with Georgetown in the first round.

District 25-5A

District champion: Liberty Hill and Glenn meet in a highly anticipated rematch at Glenn High School on Tuesday. If Liberty Hill wins, the Lady Panthers will force a co-district championship with Glenn. If the Lady Grizzlies win, they will claim the district title outright.

Who’s in: Glenn, Liberty Hill, Cedar Park, Hays

Seeding: If Glenn wins on Tuesday, the Lady Grizzlies will be the No. 1 seed and Liberty Hill will be the No. 2 seed. If Liberty Hill wins, there will be a tiebreaker playoff or a coin flip for the No. 1 seed. Cedar Park will claim the No. 3 seed with a win over Rouse or a Hays loss to Lehman. If Hays wins and Cedar Park loses, there will be a tiebreaker for the No. 3 seed as the two teams split the regular season series.

Class 4A

District 22-4A

District champion: Taylor

Who’s in: Taylor, La Grange

Seeding: A lot will be decided on Tuesday in regard to the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds from 22-4A. However, it can all be decided if Giddings beats Caldwell at home. If the Lady Buffaloes win, Giddings will be the No. 3 seed and Smithville will be the No. 4 seed, regardless of if the Lady Tigers lose to Taylor at home. But, if Giddings loses to Caldwell, then Giddings, Caldwell and Smithville will enter into a three-way tie for the No. 3 and No. 4 playoff spots. That is unless Smithville upsets Taylor. In that case, Smithville is in and the winner of Giddings-Caldwell is in.  … Taylor is assured the No. 1 seed, and La Grange will be the No. 2 seed.

District 24-4A

District champion: Burnet wins the district title with a win over Lago Vista on Tuesday. If Lago Vista wins and Jarrell beats Lampasas, Burnet and Jarrell will be co-champions.

Who’s in: Burnet, Jarrell, Marble Falls, Lampasas 

Seeding: Burnet wins the No. 1 seed and the district title outright if it beats Lago Vista, which is eliminated from postseason contention. That would make Jarrell the No. 2 seed. If Jarrell beats Lampasas, then Marble Falls is the No. 3 seed and Lampasas is the No. 4 seed.

District 27-4A

District champion: Fredericksburg

Who’s in: Fredericksburg, Boerne, Geronimo Navarro, Wimberley

Seeding: Fredericksburg is assured the No. 1 seed and Boerne is guaranteed the No. 2 seed. … Wimberley clinched a playoff berth Friday with a win over Navarro at home. The Lady Texans can force a tiebreaker with Navarro for the No. 3 seed with a win Tuesday at Canyon Lake. If Wimberley loses, the Lady Texans will be the No. 4 seed and Navarro will be the No. 3 seed.

Class 2A

District 22-4A

District champion: Thrall has clinched a share of the district title and can win it outright with a victory on Tuesday at home against Milano. If Milano wins, the Lady Eagles and Tigerettes will share the district title.

Who’s in: Thrall, Milano, Holland  

Seeding: The Bartlett-Granger game on Friday had big playoff implications for both teams. The final score was unavailable. If Granger won, the Lady Lions clinched the final playoff spot. If Bartlett won, the Bulldogs will claim the final playoff spot should Granger lose to Holland on Tuesday. If Granger beats Holland, the Lady Lions are in the playoffs.
