Westlake jumped out to a dominant first-quarter lead and never looked back, defeating Converse Judson 61-38 to win the Class 6A Division II Region IV championship at Hays High School. The 39-0 Chaparrals advance to the state semifinals for the first time since 2003 and continue their pursuit of the programโ€™s first state title since 1996.

Alamo Heights erupted for 29 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from Cedar Park for an 81-69 win in a Class 5A Division II bi-district playoff game Monday at Johnson High School in Buda. Nabil Ismail led the Timberwolves with 21 points, while Jack Brewer and Willie Whittingstall scored 23 apiece for the Mules.
