The 2026 Georetown Governor’s Cup Elite Showcase got underway Thursday and the Austin Sports Journal was there for games between Buda Johnson (girls) and Garland Sacshe, Liberty Hill (boys) and Waco La Vega, Westwood (girls) and Pieper, and Vandegrift (girls) and El Paso Franklin.

The three-day tournament features some of the best high school soccer teams in Texa and is hosted by Georgetown ISD at the Georgetown Athletic Complex, East View High School and Forbes Middle School in Georgetown.

Girls – Buda Johnson, Westwood, Pieper, Round Rock, Vandegrift, Hutto, Georgetown and East View.
