Looking ahead: Here’s 50 area volleyball players to watch in 2026

As the curtain closes on the 2025 Texas high school volleyball season, the next wave of talent is already impossible to ignore.

A loaded group of underclassmen, highlighted by an exceptional freshman class, has set the stage for what could be an exciting 2026.

The Austin Sports Journal’s 50 Players to Watch list reflects that youth movement, led by 2025 All-South Central Texas newcomer of the year Trinity Laney of Wimberley.

The dynamic outside hitter emerged as one of the area’s most electric young stars this fall and now stands at the forefront of a group that includes one of the most talented freshmen classes in modern history.

From dominant middle blockers and elite setters to lockdown liberos and high-octane outside hitters, this list spans the full spectrum of talent across South Central Texas.
