Austin Sports Journal
The Austin Sports Journal names its All-South Central Texas volleyball – formerly All-Austin Metro – teams for the 2025 Texas high school season.
This year’s Co-Miss Austin Volleyball award winners are Austin High’s Riley Malloy and Cedar Park’s Joy Udoye. Both led their teams to UIL state championship matches. Malloy helped Austin High reach the state championship for the first time in 33 years, while Udoye heled the Timberwolves win the school’s first volleyball state championship.
The ASJ all-area teams get an overhaul this year, with only one team selected for each classification per all-area team, a separate Class 4A team, and renaming the Rising Star award to the more appropriate, newcomer of the year.
The ASJ selects players from the 84 high schools within our coverage area and selects a first team and a second team for each classification, combining Class 4A and smaller schools.
You can see the All-South Central Texas teams here.
