Week 3 of the Texas high school football season is in the books. Here are this week’s Austin Sprots Journal Friday Night Stars of the Week and helmet sticker recipients.

Friday Night Star of the Week

Kaden Stefek, Hutto, QB

Stefek put on a show in the Hippos’ 63–49 win over Cedar Ridge, throwing for 443 yards and six touchdowns while completing 28 of 42 passes. Despite two interceptions, he shredded a quality 6A defense and led Hutto to a big district-opening win.

Small Town Friday Night Star of the Week

Jack Devine, Regents, QB

Devine was nearly flawless in Regents’ 63–41 victory over Antonian Prep, completing 23 of 30 passes for 443 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. His accuracy and command of the offense made for one of the most efficient passing performances of the week.

Bryce Muchaw, Sr., Liberty Hill: The running back rushed for 176 yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Panthers’ 33-20 win over El Paso Eastlake

Jadon Sultz, senior, McNeil: The quarterback threw for 345 yards and five touchdowns in the Mavericks’ 70-45 win over Westwood, completing 18 of 29 pass attempts without an interception.

Jarrell Gary Jr., senior, McNeil: The athlete caught eight passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns in the Mavericks’ win over Westwood.

Dylan Owens, junior, Hutto: The athlete had eight catches for 193 yards and two touchdowns in the Hippos’ win over Cedar Ridge.

Breland Hill, junior, Pflugerville: The wide receiver caught nine passes for 166 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers’ 40-0 win over Fort Bend Christian.

Weston Nielsen, junior, Bastrop: The quarterback threw for 549 yards and seven touchdowns in the Bears’ 70-55 win over Prestonwood Christian, completing 22 of 32 pass attempts with two interceptions.

Dallas Crescenzo, junior, Bastrop: The wide receiver caught six passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns in the Bear’s win over Prestonwood Christian.

Jack Devine, junior, Regents: The quarterback threw for 443 yards and five touchdowns in the Knights’ 63-41 win over Antonian Prep, completing 23 of 30 pass attempts without an interception.

Cody Spence, junior, Johnson City: The running back rushed for 170 yards on 15 carries (11.3 YPC) and scored three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 49-6 win over Miles.

Ke’Marion Gordan, senior, Leander: The running back rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries (8.0 YPC) in the Lions’ 43-14 win over Del Valle.

Van Hopping, senior, Lake Travis: The running back rushed for 171 yards on 13 carries (13.2 YPC) and scored four touchdowns in the Cavaliers’ 59-13 win over Midland Legacy.

Austin Knape, senior, Westlake football: The defensive lineman had four tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery in the Chaparrals’ 35-28 win over Humble Atascocita.

Trae Hill, senior, Cedar Park: The running back rushed for 211 yards on 27 carries (7.8 YPC) and scored two touchdowns in the Timberwolves’ 36-29 win over Huntsville.

Peyton King, junior, Canyon Lake: The wide receiver caught eight passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns in the Hawks’ 21-13 win over Geronimo Navarro.

Cash Lyunch, junior, Llano: The wide receiver caught six passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns in the Yellowjackets’ 50-18 win over Marble Falls.

Ben Reed, senior, Vista Ridge: The wide receiver caught five passes for 155 yards and four touchdowns in the Rangers’ 30-29 comeback victory over Round Rock.

Caleb Crenshaw, senior, Anderson: The running back rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries (7.3 YPC) in the Trojans’ 37-14 win over College Station.

Jayelen House, senior, LBJ: The quarterback threw for 385 yards and five touchdowns in the Jaguars’ 34-33 win over Wimberley, completing 26 of 36 pass attempts without an interception.

Romelo Boykin, senior, Hendrickson: The wide receiver caught nine passes for 221 yards and scored two touchdowns in the Hawks’ thrilling 42-41 win over Hays.

Chase Lyons, senior, Comal Pieper: The quarterback threw for 361 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors’ 47-44 loss to Davenport, completing 23 of 37 pass attempts without an interception.
