Mid-distance and distance runners from the Austin area shinned this weekend at the Class 6A Region IV meet in San Antonio.
Austin High’s Luke Bone ran away with the regional championship in the 800 meter run, while Round Rock’s Meredith Wolfe took home gold medals in the 1600 and 3200. Vista Ridge’s Emma Wade and Bowie’s Miah McCauley finished second and will join Wolfe at the UIL state track meet next month in the 1600 and 3200, respectively.
Del Valle’s Jeremiah Robinson easily took home the regional championship in the discus with a throw of 183 feet, 9 inches. He will be a favorite in the event at the state meet.
Dripping Springs’ Izzy Crew will compete in the wheelchair events. She won gold in the 100- and 400-wheelchair events and the shot put wheelchair.
Below are the Austin-area medalists at the Class 6A Region IV track and field championships.
The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet on May 1-3 at the University of Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. The top time, distance or height among the four bronze medalists in the the event will get a call-up to the state meet.

Automatic state qualifiers
Meredith Wolfe, Round Rock: Won the regional championship in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 59.71 seconds and the 1600 with a time of 4:52.24.
Emam Wade, Vista Ridge: Finished second in the 1600 with a time of 4:55.31
Miah McAulay, Bowie: Finished second in the 3200 with a time of 11:01.68.
Violet Hewett, Westwood: Won the regional championship in the 100 with a time of 11.58 seconds. Also qualified in the 200 with a second-place finish in 24.63 seconds.
Westlake: Won the regional championship in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:50.31.
Malaysia Brady, Westlake: Won the regional championship in the discus with a throw of 150 feet, 6 inches.
Zaniah Hoskins, Buda Johnson: Won the regional championship in the high jump with a height of 5-6.
Keona Benford, Vandegrift: Finished second in the high jump with a height of 5-6.
Isabella Famiglietti, Lake Travis: Won the regional championship in the long jump with a distance of 18-6.
Adeline Spies, Dripping Springs: Won the regional championship in the pole vault with a height of 12-0.
Cassidy Henderson, New Braunfels Canyon: Finished second in the pole vault with a height of 12-0.
Izzy Crew, Dripping Springs: Won the regional championship in the 100 wheelchair with a time of 18.38 seconds, the 400 wheelchair with a time of 1:06.10 and the shot put wheelchair with a throw of 17-9.

Ivy Parada, Round Rock: Finished third in the 800 with a time of 2:15.43.
Isabella Famiglietti, Lake Travis: Finished third in the 100 with a time of 11.67 seconds.
Round Rock: Finished third in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:51.67.
Peyton Wilson, New Braunfels Canyon: Finished third in the discus with a time of 139-2.
Taylor La Barge, Westlake: Finished third in the pole vault with a height of 12-0.
Keona Benford, Vandegrift: Finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 38-5.75.
Ava Linnell, Akins: Finished third in the 1600 with a time of 5:01.75

Luke Bone, Austin High: Won the regional championship in the 800 with a time of 1:52.64.
Owen Langdon, Bowie: Won the regional championship in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.75 seconds, and the 300 hurdles with a time of 37.33 seconds.
Elijah Clark, Westlake: Finished second in the 100 with a time of 10.30 seconds.
Abram Reagan, Lake Travis: Won the regional championship in the 400 with a time of 47.33 seconds.
Josh Gayden, McNeil: Finished second in the 200 with a time of 21.61 seconds.
Jeremiah Robinson, Del Valle: Won the regional championship in the discus with a throw of 183-9.
Aiden Walker, Round Rock: Won the regional championship in the long jump with a jump of 23-4.
Tanner Major, Buda Johnson: Won the shot put with a throw of 57-1.
Ben Duncan, Lake Travis: Finished second in the shot put with a throw of 56-9.
Round Rock: Won the regional championship in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:26.30.
Stony Point: Finished second in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:26.35. Won the regional championship in the 4×400 with a time of 3:16.13.

Kai McCullough, Vandegrift: Finished third in the 3200 with a time of 9:16.62.
Westlake: Finished third in the 4×100 meter relay team with a time of 41.69 seconds.
Alejandro Philippart, Westlake: Finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.92 seconds.
Ronzell Woods, Manor: Finished third in the 300 hurdles with a time of 37.59.
Luke Bone, Austin High: Finished third in the 1600 with a time of 4:12.43.
