ATLANTA – LOVB Austin dropped a heartbreaker Saturday at the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, falling to LOVB Salt Lake in five sets, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 25-27, 12-15.
Outside hitter Leah Hardeman led LOVB Austin with a solid performance that included 17 kills, five blocks and 19 digs.
Former Texas Longhorn Logan Eggleston continued her doiminance in the middle with 17 kills and three blocks.
“That was big girl volleyball, and that’s what we want,” Eggleston said. “We came to play in LOVB because we knew it was going to be high-level volleyball, it was back and forth all night, and it’s fun to be a part of games like that.”
The loss drops LOVB Austin to 2-3 overall and is currently in fifth place, a half-game behind Salt Lake and a full game behind LOVB Houston.
LOVB Austin returns to the H-E-B Center Wednesday to take on Houston. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
