Helmet stickers: The top performers around the Austin area from  Week 1

Here are the standout high school football players who earned helmet stickers from the Austin Sports Journal for week 1:

Doak Timmerman, Marble Falls

The junior quarterback completed 6 of 9 pass attempts for 72 yards and rushed for another 88 on 13 carries and scored five touchdowns in the Mustangs’ win over Crockett.

Cody Stoever, Wimberley

The senior quarterback scored two total touchdowns, completed 16 of 22 passes for 142 yards and rushed for 79 yards on 14 carries in the Texans’ win over Canyon Lake. Stoever scored two touchdowns.

Vann Hopping, Lake Travis

The junior running back rushed for 182 yards on 13 carries and scored five touchdowns in the Cavaliers win over Arlington Martin.

Cruz Tello, Bowie

The senior quarterback threw for 5 touchdowns, completing 7 of 19 pass attempts for 144 yards in the Bulldogs win over Manor.

Anthony Hernandez, Hays

The junior running back scored three touchdowns and rushed for 134 yards on 25 carries in the Hawks’ win over Elgin.

London Morgan, Rouse

The junior quarterback threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns, completing 15 of 25 pass attempts in the Raiders win over Connally.

Kaden Stefek, Hutto

The junior quarterback threw for 225 yards and five touchdowns in his debut and completed 8 of 11 pass attempts without an interception in the Hippos win over San Marcos.

Cole Taylor, Pflugerville

The junior quarterback completed 15 of 21 pass attempts for 297 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in the Panthers win over Leander.

Jett Walker, Georgetown

The junior running back ran for 194 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Eagles’ win over Victoria West.

Jaxon Schad, Weiss

The freshman quarterback threw for 245 yards, completing 21 of 28 pass attempts for two touchdowns with one interception in his first varsity start.

Max Gerlich, Anderson

The senior quarterback tallied 446 total yards of offense and accounted for all eight of the Trojans touchdowns. He threw for 308 yards and seven touchdowns, while rushing for another 138 in Anderson’s win over McCallum.
