Dripping Springs’ Anderson, Austin High’s Malloy make college decisions

Two of the Austin area’s top volleyball prospects made their college choices this past week.

Class of 2026 recruits Henley Anderson of Dripping Springs and Riley Malloy of Austin High announced their college commitments on social media this week.

Anderson announced she was going to the University of Texas on her personal Instagram account, while Austin High’s volleyball account announced Malloy’s commitment to the University of Southern California.

Anderson was a first team selection on the Austin Sports Journal’s inaugural All-Austin Metro volleyball team. In her sophomore season, she was picked as the District 26-6A Most Valuable Hitter after helping the Tigers to a 48-7 record and a trip to the Class 6A, Region IV finals. Anderson led the Austin area 6A players with 717 kills and had a .286 hitting percentage. She also had 51 blocks and 395 digs. 

As a freshman, Anderson and the Tigers won a Class 6A state championship in 2022. She recently was selected to Texam USA’s U-19 team.

Malloy was a first-team All-District 26-6A selection as a sophomore. She helped the Maroons reach the postseason with 387 kills and a .258 hitting percentage. She also had 41 aces.
