Giddings, Hendrickson roll in bi-district playoff wins

Girls soccer teams from the Greater Austin Metro Area had a big night on Monday. District 25-5A’s Rouse and Cedar Park both won their bi-district matches against New Braunfels Canyon and Smithson Valley, respectively.

Rouse will play the winner of Tuesday’s match between San Antonio Southwest-San Antonio Jefferson in this weekend’s area playoffs, while Cedar Park will play the winner of Alamo Heights-Southwest Legacy.

Also in Class 4A, Hendrickson cruised to a 7-0 win over Ann Richards. The Lady Hawks will play Belton in the area round after the Tigers defeated Montgomery on Monday.

District 26-6A champion Anderson picked up a 3-0 win over Stony Point and will play the winner of San Antonio Lee-Cibolo Steele in the next round.

Undefeated Giddings blasted Mexia 12-0 in a Class 4A bi-district playoff. The Lady Buffaloes will play Columbus in an area playoff this weekend.

Taylor also picked up a bi-district win in the Class 4A playoffs. The Lady Ducks defeated Waco Robinson 2-1 and will play Needville in the next round.
