Meet the 2023-24 On the Sidelines Sports All-Austin Metro Girls Basketball Teams for Class 6A, 5A and 4A-below.

Class 6A

First team
Claire Kolkhorst, Lake Travis, senior guard: District 26-6A’s offensive player of the year averaged 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. The 5-foot-9 Kolkhorst helped the Lady Cavaliers to a third-place finish in 26-6A and a trip to the postseason.
Sayler Bourland, Vista Ridge, junior guard: The District 25-6A co-most valuable player was the quarterback of the Lady Rangers offense, averaging 12 points, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game. Bourland, a 5-7 guard, helped Vista Ridge win the district championship and reach the second round of the playoffs.
Bella Hesse, Westlake, senior guard: A 5-9 point guard, Hesse helped the Chaparrals win the District 26-6A championship and reach the regional semifinals. She averaged 12.1 points, 3.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game on her way to being a first-team all-district selection.
Janiyah Alvarez, Cedar Ridge, senior forward: Alvarez was the co-mostt valuable player for District 25-6A and a first-team selection. The 6-0 power forward averaged 14 points and 7.9 rebounds per game and helped the Lady Raiders to the second round of the playoffs.
Tamia King, Westlake, sophomore center/forward: A first-team All-District 26-6A selection, the 6-0 King helped Westlake to a 28-6 record and a trip to the regional semifinals. She averaged 10.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.
Second team
Micah Walton, Bowie, senior guard: A first team All-District 25-6A slection, Walton averaged 12.5 points and 51. Rebounds per game while leading the Lady Bulldogs to a share of the district title.
Kianna Wormly, Vista Ridge, junior guard: A three-time all-district selection, Wormley averaged 11 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the district champion Lady Rangers.
Alyssa Batton, Hutto, senior guard: A four-time, first team all-district pick, Batton averaged 11.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Lady Hippos.
Kemah Shaw, Austin High, senior guard: The Lady Maroons’ guard earned her second straight District 26-6A defensive player of the year honor and had over 100 steals and assists this season. She averaged 13.8 points, 3.7 assists and 2.9 steals per game.
Aima Ofunrein, Stony Point, senior forward: A three-time first team all-district selection, the senior averaged 16 points, 8.0 blocks and 3.0 steals per game.

Class 5A

First team
Reese Hoadley, Georgetown, junior guard: The District 24-5A offensive player of the year averaged 23.8 points per game this season for the district champion Lady Eagles. She scored 812 points and shot 68% from field goal range. Hoadley earned all-tournament honors at the Eaton and Georgetown tournaments and was the MVP of the Flowing Wells Tournament in Arizona.
Hope Edwards, Cedar Park, junior guard: Cedar Park’s junior guard hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the Lady Timberwolves’ regional final with Glenn and send the game into overtime. It eventually propelled Cedar Park o the UIL state girls basketball tournament. Edwards averaged 15 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game.
NIyah Waters, Hendrickson, junior guard: The District 23-5A most valuable player helped the Lady Hawks win a district championship and reach the regional semifinals. Waters, who has multiple Division I offers, averaged 19 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 8.0 steals per game.
Gabby Mundy, Liberty Hill, junior guard: Mundy helped the Lady Panthers reach the regional quarterfinals of the UIL girls basketball playoffs. Liberty Hill’s court general averaged 17.7 points, 3.0 assists, 4.4 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Paulete Mbuangi, Navarro, senior forward: The District 24-5A most valuable player helped the Lady Vikings to their best finish in more than 40 years and a trip to the UIL girls basketball playoffs. Mbuangi, averaged 28 points, 9.3 rebounds and 6.2 steals per game.
Second team
Kyndall Johnson, LASA, freshman guard: District 24-5A’s offensive player of the year – and first team selection – helped the Lady Raptors to a third-place finish in district. The freshman averaged 17.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from behind the three-point line.
Libby Lee, Glenn, Freshman guard: The District 25-5A newcomer of the year nearly averaged a double double for the district champion Lady Grizzlies. Lee averaged 10 points and 8.9 rebounds while helping Glenn reach the regional finals.
Amya Edwards, Hendrickson, senior guard: The District 23-5A defensive player of the year helped the Lady Hawks win the district championship and reach the regional semifinals. Edwards averaged 14 points, 8.0 assists and 6.0 steals per game.
Neela Castillo, Hays, junior guard: District 25-5A’s co-defensive newcomer of the year helped the Lady Hawks to a trip to the playoffs in a competitive district. Castillo averaged 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds a game while dishing out 4.0 assists per game.
Samantha Cowles, McCallum, senior center: A first team All-District 24-5A selection, Cowles helped the Lady Knights to a district championship. She averaged 12.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game and had 47 blocks total. She was selected to play in the Central Texas High School All-Star game.

Evie Bruce, Liberty Hill, junior forward, Bella Dabbs, Georgetown, junior guard; Mariah Houston, Glenn, senior guard; Endia Stigall, Hays, sophomore guard; Emy Chen, McCallum, junior guard
Class 4A-1A

First team
Madyson Mitchell, Taylor, sophomore: The District 22-4A most valuable player helped the Lady Ducks to the second round of the playoffs. An all-region selection, Mitchell averaged 16.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.
Kylie Trlicek, La Grange, sophomore guard: A three-sport athlete, Trlicek took home District 22-4A’s defensive player of the year honors while helping the Lady Leopards to a second-place finish. Trlicek averaged 5.2 Assists, 4.8 Deflections and 5.2 Steals while scoring 14.2 points per game and dishing out 5.2 assists per game.
Ashlyn Jarosek, Thrall, senior guard: The District 27-2A most valuable player averaged 14.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and helped the Lady Tigers reach the third round of the playoffs and a district championship.
Lily Dela Rosa, Wimberley, junior guard: The junior guard reached the 1,000-career point milestone while helping the Lady Texans win their first playoff game in eight years. The first team all-district pick averaged 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game.
Asia Zachary, Taylor, senior froward: Part of the Lady Ducks’ Big-3, Zachary was the District 24-4A offensive player of the year. She averaged 13.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game while helping Taylor reach the second round of the playoffs and win the district championship.
Second team
Campbell Cooper, La Grange, freshman guard: The District 22-4A newcomer of the year helped La Grange to a second-place finish in the district and a trip to the playoffs. Campbell averaged 11.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals in her first varsity season.
Cynthia Flournoy-Walker, Thrall, sophomore guard/forward: A first team All-District 27-2A selection, Flournoy-Walker averaged 7.7 points and 5.1 rebounds while helping the Lady Tigers reach the third round of the playoffs.
Sydnie Brenner, Smithville, sophomore guard: A District 22-4A all-district selection, Brenner helped Smithville reach the postseason while averaging 11.8 points, 3.7 assists and 3.6 steals per game.
Ladonije Lewis, Smithville, sophomore forward: The team’s leading scorer and District 22-4A all-district selection averaged 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Lady Tigers.
Campbell Woodward, Wimberley, junior forward: A first team All-District 27-4A selection, Woodward, a two-sport athlete, averaged 13.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Lady Texans. She reached the 1,000-career points milestone this season.

Nevaeh Irvin, Thrall, sophomore guard; Ansley Reed, Taylor, senior guard; Laney Hennessee, Wimberley, junior forward; Kinley Hoffman, Thrall, sophomore guard; Alyssa Brade, Giddings, senior forward
