Girls soccer rankings: Round Rock, Giddings finish regular season unbeaten

All but three girls soccer districts completed its regular season this past Friday The Texas high school girls soccer season officially ends on March 22.

Round Rock and Giddings both finished their seasons as the only unbeaten teams in the Greater Austin Metro Area. The Lady Dragons won District 25-5A championship, while the Lady Buffaloes claimed the 24-4A championship.

Round Rock stayed atop of On the Sidelines Sports’ Class 6A rankings, but Giddings stayed in the No. 3 spot in the Class 5A/4A poll.

All three of the 5A districts concluded their seasons this past Friday. Georgetown has just one blemish on its record but went unbeaten in 23-5A and won the district title.

Leander also was unbeaten in 25-5A but did have four ties. The Lady Lions edged out Rouse for the district championship by a single point. 

There are two weeks in the regular season and district races in 26-6A and 26-4A will come down to the final games, while Weiss could claim the 12-6A title on Tuesday.

3. Buda Johnson (10-5-2)

4. Anderson (12-3-3)

5. Weiss (11-5-1)

Dropped out: Vista Ridge (11-7-4)

Class 5A/4A Power 5

1. Georgetown (19-1-3)

2. Leander (18-1-4)

3. Giddings (17-0-3)

4. McCallum (19-1-3)

5. LASA (16-1-3)

Dropped out: Hendrickson (16-3-2)
