“Unfinished business.”
“57-43.”
Those were the phrases spoken by Stony Point head coach Antonine Thompson after Tuesday’s 49-35 win over Westlake in a Class UIL boys basketball regional quarterfinal at the Toney Burger Center in Austin.
Stony Point (35-1) gets its chance at redemption on Friday as the Tigers will face the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year – San Antonio Brennan.
“We know the elephant in the room,” Thompson said. “Same team, same floor. That’s their home floor, and we have some unfinished business.”
Stony Point (35-1) takes on Brennan (31-4) at 7:25 p.m. at Northside Gymnasium in San Antonio in the second 6A-Region IV semifinal on Friday. Lake Travis and San Antonio O’Connor. will take the court at 5 p.m.
O’Connor and Brennan will have home court advantage this weekend in San Antonio. O’Connor High School is three-miles from the Northside Gym, the site of the regional tournament, and play their home games there. Brennan is a little further south along Loop 1604 and also plays their home games at Northside Gym.

Friday’s matchup for the Tigers will be a rematch from last year’s regional semifinal loss to Brennan, a wrong Stony Point hopes to right.
“I’m really hype for this game,” said Stony Point center Josiah Moseley, a Villanova signee. “We lost to them last year, so we gotta go take care of business”

Brennan is led by junior Kingston Flemings, who is the brother of Bella Flemings, a 5-star recruit for Brennan’s girls basketball team.
Bella Flemings led the Lady Bears to a regional championship this past weekend at Northside Gymnasium with a 47 points against reigning state champion San Antonio Clark.
Kingston Flemings, much like his sister is a prolific scorer and game changer. He averages 17 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. However, he’s not the Bears’ only weapon. Sophomore Isaiah Ward average 14.5 points per game, while junior Camden Cowgill averages 13.5 points a game.
Stony Point showed its depth Tuesday night against Westlake.
The Chaps (28-8) controlled the pace of the game early and held a 21-18 lead at halftime.
Westlake got a big first half from Max Purushothaman, who scored all of his team-high nine points in the first half.
The Chaps did a good job in the first half of isolating Moseley, who scored 10 of Stony Point’s 18 first-half points.
However, the Tigers’ depth and athleticism wore down Westlake in the second half.
Guard Junior Goodlet scored all but four of his 16 points in the second half as Stony Point pulled away from Westlake. Moseley also scored 16 points while Uzziah Buntyn dropped in nine.
“Josiah isn’t our only player,” Thompson said. “We got Uzzi Buntyn, we got Alan Guyton, we got Junior Goodlet, and we got DaVaugh Heuit, who stepped up big for us. These are all guys who put in relentless work and contribute to our team’s success.”
