Three unbeaten boys soccer teams remain; McCallum, Vista Ridge join rankings

Glenn (17-0) extended its winning streak to an Austin-area best 17 games this past week. The Grizzlies look unstoppable as teams in the area enter the second half of district play.

Bowie (12-0-1) kept its winning streak intact with convincing wins over Del Valle and Anderson last week. The Bulldogs hold a two-game lead over Westlake in 26-6A.

There is about one-month left in the Texas high school soccer regular season.

Class 6A Power 5

1. Bowie (15-0-1)

The Bulldogs extended their winning streak to 11 games last week with decisive wins over Austin High and Dripping Springs.

2.  Vandegrift (12-1-2)

The Vipers outscored their opponents last week 10-2 and stayed unbeaten in District 25-6A.

3. Weiss (11-1-3)

The Wolves extended their winning streak to five games this past week, defeating Midway 3-1 on Tuesday.

4. Westlake (11-2-3)

The Chaps netted a 1-0 win over rival Lake Travis this past Friday and avenged an earlier loss to Del Valle on Tuesday with a 2-0 shutout of the Cardinals.  

5. Vista Ridge (10-3-3)

The Rangers are winners of three straight matches, including a 7-5 win over McNeil on Tuesday and a 3-0 win against Cedar Ridge this past Friday. Vista Ridge is 6-0-3 in district play.

Class 5A/4A Power 5

1. Glenn (19-0-0)

The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to 19 games with wins over Lehman and Lockhart last week.  

2. Connally (16-0-1)

The Cougars remain one of three unbeaten boys soccer teams in the Austin area with wins over Elgin and Georgetown this past week.

3. LASA (11-1-2)

The Raptors remained unbeaten in 24-5A with wins over Crockett and Eastside this past week. Yahannes Heineman and Alexander Marintzer scored two goals each.

4. Georgetown (11-2-5)

The Eagles fall to No. 4 after dropping a 3-2 decision to Connally this past Friday and beating Pflugerville 3-2 on Tuesday.

5. McCallum (8-2-2)

The Knights join the rankings this week after winning their fifth straight match on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory over LBJ. McCallum beat Crocket 1-0 this past Friday.
