Lady Chaps bully Lady Chargers in 22-point blowout win

KYLE โย It’s been five years since current Texas Longhorns star Shay Holle helped lead Westlake to the Class 6A-Region IV finals.
After a trio of first-round exits and a cancelled playoffs in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lady Chaparrals are headed back to San Antonio.
Westlake (28-5) put on an impressive shooting display Tuesday at Lehman High School in Kyle to defeat San Antonio Churchill 59-37 in a regional quarterfinal. The Lady Chaps will play San Antonio Brennan on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in a 6A-IV semifinal.

The Chaparrals got a game-high 20 points from senior guard Gianna Angiolet, who scored 13 of those points in the second half as Westlake pulled away from a 14-point halftime lead.
Westlake made the most of early trips to the free-throw line โ six, to be exact. The Lady Chaps were near perfect, making 8-of-10 attempts.
Westlake heated up from the floor in the second quarter. Junior Lovie Bien scored seven of her nine points in the quarter, including a three-pointer early.
Sophomore Tamia King made her presence known underneath the basket, scoring eight of her 11 points in the first half.
The Lady Chaps really got going in the third quarter.
Angiolet drained a pair of three-point field goals, while senior point guard Bella Hesse scored six of her nine points in the third quarter. Westlake led by 19 points heading into the final period.
