Here are the On the Sidelines Sports Austin metro area boys and girls basketball Players of the Week for the Week of Jan. 22-26. Players are nominated by their coaches and chosen by On the Sidelines Sports Executive Director Michael Adams.

Girls Basketball Player of the Week

Bella Hesse, Westlake, senior guard

Westlake’s senior point guard had an exceptional week for the Chaparrals. Hesse dropped 24 points in Westlake’s win over Dripping Springs, combining with Gianna Angiolet for 51 of Westlake’s 81 points. She had 11 points in limited playing time in Westlake’s 75-21 win over Anderson on Tuesday.

Boys Basketball Player of the Week

Robert Conrad, Cedar Creek, senior guard

Cedar Creek’s leading scorer had a game-high 17 points in the Eagles win over Hendrickson and is averaging 21 points per game. Conrad has been instrumental in Cedar Creek’s four-game winning streak.

Each week, for the remainder of the regular season, On the Sidelines Sports will select a Player of the Week for both boys and girls basketball. Coaches are strongly encouraged to submit nominations by Saturday evening each week by emailing the player’s name, position, class and any pertinent stats for the week to madams@onthesidelinessports.com.
