Asia Zachary scored 20 points and had 11 rebounds Friday to help lead the Taylor Lady Ducks to a home District 22-4A win over Smithville. The win gives the Lady Ducks sole possession of first place after the first round of district play.

Taylor (14-7, 6-0) is one game ahead of La Grange and two games ahead of the Lady Tigers in the district standings.

Madyson Mitchell added 17 points and six rebounds, while Kionayh Rivers put in 16 points to go with four steals.

Taylor hosts Austin Achieve on Tuesday to begin the second round of district play, while Smithville (12-9, 4-2) hosts Caldwell.

Georgetown 91, Cedar Creek 9: Bella Dabbs scored 20 points to push the visiting Lady Eagles past an outmatched Cedar Creek team in Friday’s District 23-5A matchup. Dabbs was 6-of-6 from the three-point line and added seven assists, five rebounds and four steals in 16 minutes of playing time.

Reese Hoadley also saw limited playing time and scored 19 points and had 7 steals. Cassady Lee put in 14 and Sofia Cirigioni added eight points and shot 100% from the floor.

Georgetown (20-5, 6-1) travels across town to face East View on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles (8-16, 1-6) face cross-town rival Bastrop on Tuesday at Bastrop High School.

Cedar Park 68, Rouse 32: Hope Edwards scored 22 points Friday to lead visiting Cedar Park to a win over Rouse, closing the first half of District 25-5A play with a 4-2 record and tied for third place with Hays.

The Lady Wolves (16-9, 4-2) outscored the Lady Raiders 21-7 in the first quarter and led by 20 points at halftime.

Rouse (13-13, 2-4) was led by Abby Baughman’s 13 points, while Alli Maley added 12. Cedar Park travels to Liberty Hill Tuesday, while the Raiders travel to Leander.
