Westlake and Liberty Hill maintain hold on the top spot in 6A and 5A rankings, respectively.

Here are On the Sidelines’ Sports top five high school girls basketball teams in Class 6A, Class 5A and Class 4A-below in the Greater Austin Metro Area.

Class 6A

Notes: Westlake ran through Bowie and Johnson last week and maintained the top spot in our Class 6A Power 5… San Marcos jumps up to the No. 2 spot and have the longest-active winning streak among our area schools with seven-straight wins… Cedar Ridge, our No. 3 Class 6A team, also has won seven-straight games and is undefeated in District 25-6A play… Vandegrift has won three straight and has a big showdown with Cedar Ridge on Friday… The Bulldogs drop to No. 5 after their loss to the Chaparrals.

Notes: The top three remain unchanged in this week’s Class 5A power five. Liberty Hill and Glenn have a big showdown on Friday at Liberty Hill in the On the Sidelines’ Sports Greater Austin Metro Area Game of the Week… Georgetown is nipping at the heels of the Grizzlies and could jump into the No. 2 spot next week. The Eagles manhandled Elgin on Friday as Reese Hoadley had 20 points and 4 assists and Chasidy Lee added 16 points and 10 rebounds… Hays slides into the No. 4 spot in this week’s poll. The Hawks beat Cedar Park and Rouse last week and have a big matchup with Liberty Hill on Tuesday… Cedar Park moves into the No. 5 spot after upsetting Glenn on Friday. The Timberwolves close the first half of District 25-5A play this week with a home game against Leander on Tuesday and an away game against Rouse on Friday.
