Sophomore Chloe Frizzell slammed 13 kills to lift Anderson to a 25-17, 26-24, 25-20 win over rival McCallum Tuesday night and moves within one game of clinching the District 24-5A championship.
The Trojans (20-10, 11-0) maintained control from the opening set and got contribution from every player on the roster. Brooklyn Vazquez and Kate Leakey had eight kills apiece, while Elaine Harrison put up 30 assists and Piper Poage and Julie Jedrzejewski finished with double digit digs with 12 and 11, respectively.
McCallum (25-11, 8-3) was led by senior Lexi Rosenblatt’s eight kills, 17 assists, and eight digs. Kafia Jackson-Woods also finished the night with eight kills, while Aaniya Thornton had a team high 21 digs. The Knights took a 13-5 lead in the second set, but the Trojans fought back to win the set 26-24.
All four playoff spots from 24-5A have been secured. Anderson and McCallum will be the Division I representatives. The Trojans will likely draw East View in the first round, while McCallum will take on Hendrickson. The playoffs begin on Oct. 30. Bastrop and Ann Richards will be the Division II representatives. The Bears and Stars will face either Georgetown or Weiss in the first round.

Austin High 3, Lake Travis 0: The Maroons (34-5, 9-1 District 26-6A) defeated the second-place Cavaliers Tuesday 29-27, 27-25, 25-19 at the Cavalier Dome at Lake Travis High School. Austin High is in sole possession of first place and will win the District 26-6A championship outright Friday with a win against Akins. All four playoff spots from 26-6A have been secured. Westlake and Lake Travis will be the Division I representatives, while Austin High and Dripping Springs will be the Division II representatives.
Westlake 3, Dripping Springs 2: The Chaparrals are getting hot at the right time. Despite 28 kills from Dripping Springs’ senior Henley Anderson, Westlake defeated the Tigers 22-25, 25-22, 25-17, 19-25, 25-10 Tuesday night at Dripping Springs. The Chaps could force a tie with Lake Travis for the top seed from the district in Division I with a win over the Cavaliers on Oct. 24.
Cedar Park 3, Liberty Hill 0: The Timberwolves (30-12, 11-0 District 25-5A) got 15 kills from Joy Udoye and 13 from Mya Cheatum to defeat Liberty HIll 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 Tuesday at Liberty Hill High School. The win clinches the District 25-5A championship for Cedar Park for the second year in-a-row. Cedar Park and Liberty Hill will be the Division II representatives in the playoffs. The Timberwolves will face Boerne Champion, while Liberty Hill will take on Comal Pieper.
Round Rock 3, Westwood 0: The Dragons (35-8, 14-0 District 25-6A) clinched the District 25-6A championship Tuesday with a 25-8, 25-14, 25-19 win over the visiting Warriors. Parker Featherstone led Round Rock with 13 kills and a .480 hitting percentage, while Kerrington Thornton had 10 kills and a .471 hitting percentage. Libero Isa Cordaway-Drier led the team with 17 digs. Piper Evans and Grace McCluskey each had seven kills to lead the Warriors.
Wimberley 3, Davenport 2: The Texans (38-5, 7-0 District 26-4A) got 18 kills from senior Cameron Thames and 15 apiece from Trinity Laney and Lilli Sandoval to defeat visiting Davenport 25-18, 19-25, 17-25, 25-22, 16-14 Tuesday. Wimberley clinched the district championship for the second year in-a-row and completed the sweep over their rivals. Sandoval added 11 digs while Laney had 14. Senior Skylar Herring had a team-high 21 digs.
