The Bastrop Bears are 5-0 for the first time since 2009 and the second time since 1990.

Bastrop (5-0, 2-0 District 11-5A-II) put on an offensive display behind junior quarterback Weston Nielsen and senior running back Gary Jefferson Jr. to defeat McCallum 69-7 Thursday at House Park Stadium in Austin.

The Bears’ offense is averaging 60.4 points per game. The season low is 48 in a win over Class 4A powerhouse China Spring.
