Week 4 of the Texas high school football season is in the books. Here are this week’s Austin Sprots Journal Friday Night Stars of the Week and helmet sticker recipients.
Friday Night Star of the Week

Cole Taylor, Pflugerville, QB
Taylor tossed eight touchdown passes on Friday as the senior quarterback threw for 295 yards s in the Panthers’ win over Austin Navarro. He completed 13 of 15 pass attempts without an interception.
Small Town Friday Night Star of the Week
Jace Wheeler, Canyon Lake, QB
The junior quarterback threw for 388 yards and four touchdowns in the Hawks’ win over San Antonio Veterans Memorial. He completed 23 of 34 pass attempts without an interception.

Chase Ames, Dripping Springs, football: The junior quarterback threw for 356 yards and five touchdowns in the Tigers’ win over Buda Johnson. He completed 24 of 30 pass attempts without an interception.
Merrick Bloomgren, Dripping Springs, football: The senior wide receiver caught 10 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers’ win over Buda Johnson.
Rhyo Moreno, Bowie, football: The junior running back rushed for 248 yards on 28 carries (8.6 ypc) and scored two touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ win over Converse Judson.
Jackson Lang, Bowie, football: The senior linebacker had seven tackles, including two sacks in the Bulldogs’ win over Converse Judson.
Dylan Belinga Liberty Hill, football: The junior running back rushef for 226 yards on 14 carries (16.1 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Connally.
Preston Benefield, Liberty Hill, football: The senior running back rushed for 147 yards on seven carries (21.0 ypc) and scored three touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Connally.
Kristio Bryant, Austin Eastside, football: The junior running back scored three touchdowns, rushing for 71 yards on six carries (11.8 ypc) in the Panthers’ win over John Paul II.
Jack Devine, Austin Regents, football: The junior quarterback threw six touchdown passes in the Knights’ 59-15 win over St. Joseph Academy, completing 11 of 19 pass attempts for 211 yards and no interceptions.
Blake Smith, Austin Regents, football: The senior wide receiver caught four passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns in the Knights’ win over St. Joseph.
Gary Jefferson Jr., Bastrop, football: The senior running back averaged 24.7 yards per carry, rushing for 74 yards on three carries and scoring three touchdowns in the Bears’ win over Crockett.
Jaxson Schad, Wiess, football: The sophomore quarterback threw for 358 yards and seven touchdowns in the Wolves’ win over Lehman. He completed 18 of 23 pass attempts without an interception.
Jordan Ibn Anderson-El, Weiss, football: The sophomore wide receiver caught seven passes for 133 yards and four touchdowns in the Wolves win over Lehman.
Trey Moore, Weiss, football: The junior wide receiver caught six passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns in the Wolves’ win over Lehman.
Kase Evans, Lexington, football: The senior quarterback threw for 205 yards and five touchdowns in the Eagles’ win over Grosebeck. He completed 13 of 19 pass attempts with one interception.
Breland Hill, Pflugerville, football: The junior wide receiver caught three passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over Austin Navarro.
Peyton King, Canyon Lake, football: The junior wide receiver caught nine passes for 209 yards and three touchdowns in the Hawks’ win over San Antonio Veterans Memorial.
Jarren Lopez, Westlake, football: The sophomore running back rushed for 104 yards on 13 carries (8.0 ypc) and scored a touchdown in the Chaparrals’ win over Cibolo Steele.
Brock Stewart, New Braunfels, football: The junior running back rushed for 112 yards on nine carries (12.4 ypc) and a touchdown in the Unicorns’ win over San Antonio MacArthur.
Keilan Chavies, Hutto, football: The senior running back rushed fore 168 yards on six carries (28.0 ypc) and three touchdowns in the Hippos’ win over Manor.
Joaquin Aguilar, Marble Falls, football: The senior running back rushed for 157 yards on 25 carries (6.3 ypc) and three touchdowns in the Mustangs’ win over Brackenridge.
Pete Vallejo Jr., Hendrickson, football: The junior quarterback threw for 286 yards and four touchdowns in the Hawks’ win over Lockhart. He completed 14 of 23 pass attempts without an interception.
Kenneth Johnson, Jarrell, football: The junior rushed for 150 yards on Friday in the Cougars’ win over Llano.
