Photos & video: Stony Point wins thriller at Dragon Stadium to start 2-0 for first time since 2022

ROUND ROCK – Stony Point put two big plays together, including a pick-six by Deshun Jones in the second quarter, to defeat Buda Johnson 17-14 Thursday at Dragon Stadium. The Tigers (2-0) are off to their best start since 2022.

Buda Johnson (0-2) scored on a blocked punt by Jett Hickson in the second quarter and then on a touchdown run by Johnny Beck. Stony Point answered in the third quarter with a touchdown run by Aiden Loyden to put the Tigers up for good.

Stony Point will start District 25-6A play next week at Vandegrift, while Buda Johnson will face Austin High at House Park Stadium in Austin.
