Week 1 of the Texas high school football season is in the books. Here are this week’s Austin Sprots Journal Friday Night Stars of the Week and helmet sticker recipients.
Friday Night Star of the Week (6A-5A)
London Morgan, Rouse, quarterback
The senior threw for 375 yards and six touchdowns in the Raiders’ 55-33 win over Connally, completing 23 of 30 pass attempts without an interception.
Friday Night Star of the Week (4A & below)
Devonte Foster, Salado, quarterback
The senior had 440 total yards and scored five touchdowns in the Eagles’ 59-42 win over Troy. Foster rushed for 163 yards on 13 carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground. Through the air, he completed 15 of 20 pass attempts for 277 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.

Aubryn Davis, Rouse, WR: The junior caught five passes for 84 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Raiders’ win over Connally.
Luke McBride, Lake Travis, QB: The senior threw for 386 yards and four touchdowns in the Cavaliers’ 48-21 win over Arlington Martin, completion 23 of 37 pass attempts without an interception.
Justin Tardy, San Marcos, RB: The senior rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries in the Rattlers’ 40-27 win over Hutto.
Bradley Dent, Del Valle, RB: The senior rushed for 187 yards on 16 carries and scored three touchdowns in Del Valle’s 47-0 win over Cedar Creek.
Chase Ames, Dripping Springs, QB: The junior threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers’ 41-14 win over Vandegrift, completing 17-24 pass attempts without an interception.
Caleb Crenshaw, Anderson, RB: The senior rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries in the Trojans’ 37-2 win over McCallum.
Marquis Milligan, Stony Point, RB: The junior rushed for 166 yards on 19 carries and scored four touchdowns in the Tigers’ 42-20 win over East View.
Andrew Grinestaff, Compal Pieper, WR: The senior caught seven passes for 151 years and scored two touchdowns in the Warriors’ 35-28 win over Boerne.
Rhys Moreno, Bowie, RB: The junior rushed for 284 yards on 13 carries and scored four touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 49-14 win over Manor.
Jake McGill, Cedar Ridge, WR: The senior had five catches for 1123 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders 49-31 win over Buda Johnson.
Maverick Jacobs, Wimberley, RB: The senior rushed for 102 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns in Wimberley’s 36-35 win over Canyon Lake.
Jace Wheeler, Canyon Lake, QB: The junior threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns, completing 13 of 18 pass attempts without an interception in the Hawks’ loss to Wimberley.
Case McDaniel, Thorndale, QB: The junior threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs’ 31-3 win over Thrall, completing 12 of 19 pass attempts without an interception.
Barrett Fallon, Davenport, RB: The senior rushed for 182 yards on 27 carries and scored four touchdowns.
Luke Davis, Llano, QB: The junior threw for 171 yards and five touchdowns in the Yellowjackets’ 55-14 win over Lytle, completing 9 of 17 pass attempts without an interception.
Joaquin Aguilar, Marble Falls, RB: The senior rushed for164 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns in the Mustangs’ 48-0 win over Crockett.
Marquis Murry II, LBJ, RB: The junior rushed for 175 yards on 11 carries with two touchdown runs in the Jaguars’ 46-13 win over Sam Houston. He also caught three passes for 53 yards and a touchdown.
Hayes Paddock, St. Andrews, RB: The sophomore rushed for 135 yards on five carries and scored three touchdowns in the Highlanders 62-0 win over Austin Northeast
Weston Bayer, Lexington, WR: The senior caught four passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles 55-26 win over Marlin.
Jack Devine, Regents, QB: The junior threw for 317 yards and three touchdowns in the Knights’ 55-48 win over Lorena.
