Pflugerville ISD announced Monday that Malcom Hill will be the next head football coach/boys athletic coordinator at Weiss High School.

The hire follows a growing trend among Austin-area high schools of hiring young coordinators from the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ealier this spring, Hutto ISD hired North Crowley offensive coordinator Eli Reinhart to replace Will Compton, who was promoted to Hutto ISD athletic director. It’s Reinhart’s first head coaching job.

Hill, a former defensive back at Rice, comes to Weiss from Prosper High School where he served as offensive coordinator under head coach Tyler Moore. The Eagles went 8-3 last season and finished second in District 6-6A.

Prosper’s offense averaged 439.1 yards and 41 points per game last season under Hill’s direction.

Hill will inherit a young offense at Weiss led by sophomore quarterback Jaxon Schad (2,689 yards, 32 touchdowns, 71% Completion percentage). The Wolves (8-3 in 2024) also return leading rusher Nick Johnson (1,049 yards 13 touchdowns) and standout defensive back Jorian Guinn Jr.

Weiss opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 28 against McNeil at The Pfield in Pflugerville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
