The Austin Sports Journal on Tuesday revealed the cover for the second edition of the Austin Football Preview magazine, available Aug. 21, 2025.
This year’s the magazine will feature Vandegrift quarterback Miles Teodecki with the headline “Evolution of the Viper.” The cover story will look at Vandegrift’s rise to a state football powerhouse over the last 14 years.
The photo on the cover was taken at the 2024 Class 6A Division II state championship game by Austin Sports Journal Publisher & Executive Editor Michael Adams.
“Vandegrift’s rise to prominence should be studied by new schools all over Texas,” Adams said. “Friday night lights have always shined bright in west Austin, but Westlake and Lake Travis have new neighbors next door. That was the idea behind featuring Vandegrift on the cover.”
This 48-page preview will feature all 83 high school football teams across our 13-county coverage area.
