You will find the Austin Sports Journal’s All-Austin Metro girls awards and Class 6A, 5A and 4A all-area teams below.

The ASJ selects a small school player of the year, top newcomer (Rising Star), goalkeeper of the year and coach of the year, as well naming our Miss Austin Soccer – given to the player of the year.

When selecting teams and awards, we select players from within our 82-school coverage area that reaches across 13 counties in the Austin-San Antonio metroplex. The ASJ considers nominations from coaches, overall team performance, individual statistics and other postseason awards when selecting teams and award winners.

2025 Miss Austin Soccer: Cedar Park’s Meredith Koltz

Meredith Koltz likely still hasn’t taken off her state gold medal.

When Cedar Park needed her the most, the Belmont signee delivered like she has all four years of her high school career. Yet, her best delivery was an all-out assault on the defending two-time Class 5A state champions – Frisco Wakeland – in the biggest game of her career.

Koltz scored the first goal of the Class 5A Division II state championship game and then scored Cedar Park’s final goal to lead the Timberwolves to the school’s first girls soccer state championship. She was named the game’s most valuable player, and it wasn’t even close.

“When I scored that first goal, when I tell you, I literally saw white and started screaming my head off,” Koltz said after the championship game. “(Wakeland) made it known they were on a 54-game winning streak, but we wanted them to know we weren’t winning games 6-0 because the teams weren’t up to that standard. We’re good, and we’re talented, and people underestimated us, but we came to play.”

Koltz’s competitive spirit wasn’t just visible in postgame interviews, she backed it up on the pitch. The senior captain was the unequivocal leader of the Timberwolves and led the team in points (88), goals (33) and assists (22).

The postseason accolades came with Cedar Park’s success. Koltz was a first team selection to the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) all-state team, selected to the UIL all-state tournament team and was the District 25-5A most valuable player.

Koltz will move to Nashville shortly after graduation this month and join the Belmont women’s soccer team to begin her freshman season in the fall. However, her legacy at Cedar Park is going to stick around for generations.

The Davenport-Wimberley rivalry is becoming one of the best in Texas. The rivalry became a show of one-upmanship on the pitch between Davenport’s Riley Reisdorph and Wimberley’s Lilli Sandoval, arguably two of the top girls soccer players in the state and the Austin Sports Journal’s co-small school players of the year.

Sandoval got the better of Reisdorph in the regular season as her Lady Texans defeated Reisdorph’s Wolves in both meetings and won the District 26-6A championship.

Yet, both led their teams to Class 4A state championship games – Davenport in Class 4A Division I and Wimberley in Class 4A Division II.

Reisdorph and Sandoval both earned individual honors on the All-District 26-6A team. Reisdorph was the district’s most valuable player, while Sandoval was the district’s offensive MVP.

They were both selected to the UIL all-state tournament team and honored by the TASCO. Sandoval was a first team all-state selection, while Reisdorph was a second team selection.

Statistically, they couldn’t have been more similar.

Reisdorph finished with 116 points, scoring 55 goals and assisting with six others. Sandoval, who won a state championship with the Wimberley volleyball team in the fall, finished with 109 points, scoring 46 goals and assisting on 17 others.

Reisdorph will play soccer at the University of Central Arkansas in the fall, while Sandoval will return for her senior year with hopes of leading the Lady Texans to a second volleyball state championship and getting redemption for the soccer team.

The future Rice Owl’s accolades speak for themselves. She is a two-time TASCO all-state selection at goalkeeper, the District 25-6A goalkeeper of the year and helped lead her team to the Class 6A state semifinals as a sophomore and the Class 6A Division II regional finals this year

Cedar Park head coach Winston Pool managed a historic season for the Timberwolves.
