From staff reports
Bo Ogden may or may not have called bank on his last shot, but the junior did call game.
Ogden banked in a 10-foot jumper at the buzzer Saturday to propel St. Michael’s Prep to a 50-48 win over Dallas Parish Episcopal (33-4) in the TAPPS Class 6A boys basketball state championship game at Waco Robinson High School.

St Michael’s (32-4) jumped out to an early 32-10 lead over the reigning TAPPS 6A state champions. However, Parish Episcopal mounted a 10-0 run late in the second quarter to cut the Warriors’ lead to 12 at halftime.
The Panthers went on to outscore St. Michael’s 14-4 in the third frame and entered fourth quarter behind by two points.
The final frame was back and fourth.
Parish Episcopal’s Taurean Mitchell gave the Panthers their first lead of the game at the 6:42 mark in the fourth quarter. Hudson Lucas and Mitchell made back-to-back field goals after two free throws from St. Michael’s to give Parish Episcopal a four-point advantage with five minutes left.

However, Sun Jinkal and Ogden led a charge that culmonated with a 5-0 run for St. Michael’s to retake the lead but Parish Episcopal got a three-point field goal from Paul Dalcour with 2:42 left to give the Panthers a slim 45-43 advantage heading into the home stretch.
An Aiden Disu three-pointer and a Jinkal jumper sparked another 5-0 run for St. Michael’s, but Mitchell would once again respond to tie the game once again.
The score remained deadlocked at 48-48 until Odgen’s championship-winning shot.
Ogden scored a game-high 15 points and was a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line. He is one of the top 10 recruits in the state by 24/7 Sports and has offers from Texas, Tennessee and Purdue.
Jinkal added 13 points for the Warriors, while Nolan Barkley had 12 and Disu contributed 10 points to St. Michael’s state championship winning effort.
St. Michael’s was making it’s sixth state tournament appearance and won its third championship. Saturday’s win was the first since 2004.
