BUDA โ€“ย While there may be some new faces on the court, the Stony Point Tigers are still a juggernaut.

Stony Point produced an offensive assault to build a 19-point lead in the first quarter Monday and went on to defeat Dripping Springs 78-50 in a Class 6A Division II bi-district playoff at Buda Johnson High School.

The win gave head coach Antoine Thompson his 101st victory at Stony Point. In three years as head coach of the Tigers, Thompson has amassed a 101-8 record.

The Tigers (30-4) are looking to return to the Alamodome in three weeks for the UIL boys basketball state championships. Last year, Stony Point lost to Plano East in the Class 6A championship game.

The four-time District 25-6A champions advance to the area round where they will face San Antonio Sotomayor (18-14). You can find playoff scores, parings and game times for all Austin-area teams here.
