Austin Northeast (11-1) is the story of the area as we reach the midpoint of the 2025 Texas high school boys soccer season.

The Raiders continue to roll and picked up a pair of wins last week to stay at No. 1 in the Austin Sports Journalโ€™s Class 4A poll. Northeast will have a tough match Friday against District 25-4A rival Austin Achieve, who joins the 4A rankings this week at No. 5

The Raiders defeated Jarrell 4-0 on Tuesday with Erik Velazquez, Jason Morales, Kevin Gutierrez and Luis Vargas each getting a goal. Roger Amador had two assists.

In 6A, McNeil returns to the top 5, while New Braunfels Canyon makes its debut. The Mavericks picked up a pair of wins last week, defeating Manor 2-1 and Hutto 5-3. The Cougars tied Judson 2-2 and defeated San Antonio East Central 3-2.

For the second straight week, Bastrop and Glenn swap places in our Class 5A rankings. The Bears picked up wins over Crockett and Anderson last week. In Tuesdayโ€™s win over the Trojans, Isaac Dugger, Andres Carbajal and Angel Hernandez had goals for Bastrop.

The Grizzlies beat Hays last Friday and played to a 1-1 tie with a competitive Cedar Park Tuesday.

The Austin Sports Journalโ€™s rankings are determined each week by information reported on MaxPreps. The ASJ uses overall records and strength of schedule to rank teams for each classification. Private schools are considered for the 4A & others top five.
