SMITHVILLE – The Smithville Lady Tigers defeated Bellville 33-25 Tuesday in front of a full house at Tiger Gymnasium to clinch the District 22-4A championship.
It’s Smithville’s first women’s basketball district title since the 2018-19 season and second under head coach Jaimie Kadlecek, who played at Smithville from 2008-11.
Coming Sunday: The Austin Sports Journal talked with Kadlecek about how her playing days under former head coach Robin Ramsey prepared her to lead return as head coach and lead Smithville back to prominence.
