Clinging to a three-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, a resilient Westwood (23-0, 6-0 District 25-6A) exploded in the final period Tuesday, securing a 59-47 win over Round Rock (16-7, 5-1). In front of a full house at Westwood High School, senior Thomas Burke scored a team-high 15 points, while Indy McBrearty also added 15.
Westwood is running the gauntlet in District 25-6A and faces its biggest test of the season on Friday when the Warriors travel to Stony Point for a showdown with the Class 6A state runner-up.
