Austin Sports Journal
The Austin Sports Journal will debut a new weekly feature dedicated to Austin-area sports next week.
“On the Sidelines with Michael” premiers on Jan. 9 here on austinsportsjournal.com. The column’s title pays homage to the Austin Sports Journal’s beginnings when it was known as On the Sidelines Sports.

Each Thursday, ASJ President and Publisher Michael Adams will bring you the top high school sports stories of the week from all around the Greater Austin area.
The column will be free content to and will compliment our daily coverage and feature weekly videos that include player profiles, game highlights and exclusive interviews.
Premiering with the column is our new feature we titled, “Small Town Spotlight.”
This regular feature will highlight an athlete from one of the small towns surrounding the Austin area that we feel you should get to know.
“There’s a lot of hidden talent in the outskirts of the Austin metropolitan area,” Adams said. “Many of these kids get lost in the shuffle, sometimes because they don’t go to one of the bigger high schools, or you don’t hear about them until they get to a state-level competition. This new feature allows us to put these kids in the spotlight and introduce them to a larger audience.”
Catch the column each week to get the latest news from Austin’s No. 1 source high school sports coverage.
