We are reaching the midpoint of the 2024 Texas high school football regular season, and our rankings shifted a bit after a wild Week 5 that included several upsets– notably, Leander’s win over Georgetown, Elgin’s upset of previously unbeaten Pflugerville, and Cedar Ridge’s stunning win of previously unbeaten Round Rock.

This biggest shakeup is in our Class 5A Top 5, which has new No. 1 and a debut.

Liberty Hill leaps into the top spot thanks to the previously mentioned losses by Georgetown and Pflugerville, while Weiss moves into the No. 2 spot. A newcomer to our Top 5 is East View, which is off to a 4-1 start and replaces Anderson at No. 5.

The Class 6A Top 5 had a few shifts. Vandegrift takes over the No. 3 spot, while Bowie drops to No. 4. Newcomer Dripping Springs makes its first appearance in our 6A rankings.
