Photos: Vista Ridge volleyball defeats rival Cedar Park in five-set thriller

CEDAR PARK โ€“ The Vista Ridge Rangers (1-0) needed five sets Tuesday to finish rival Cedar Park 25-21, 33-35, 20-25, 25-16, 15-9 at Cedar Park High School. It was the season opener for both teams.

The Timberwolves (0-1) took a 2-1 advantage, taking a thrilling second set that had 13 set points and commanding the third set behind the offense of Sophia Peters and Joy Udoye.

The Rangers dominated the fourth and fifth sets behind solid play by a match-high 24 kills from Sophia Ely, 9 kills from Avery Place and 7 kills from Ella Prewitt. Sophomore standout Jennavee Jensen had 5 kills before leaving the match in the second set with an injury.
