The 2024 Texas high school football season begins on Aug. 29. Some teams will begin practice on Monday, Aug. 5, while those teams that had spring drills will begin on Aug. 12.
The Austin Sports Journal revealed its preseason rankings last month. Today, we take a glance at the top players heading into the season with the reveal of our All-Austin Metro preseason football team.

The price increases to $12 on Aug. 1.
The preseason team consists of 12 players on offense and 11 players on defense. Unlike our end of season All-Austin Metro teams, we selected the teams regardless of classification.
