Westlake takes top spot in 6A/5A poll, while Wimberley tops small school rankings

There are just 35 days until fall practice begins for Austin area high school football teams that didn’t conduct spring drills, and just 59 days until the first game.

As we get ready for the 2024 Texas high school football season, the Austin Sports Journal is releasing today its preseason top 10s for big school (6A/5A) and small school (4A-below). Throughout the season, the ASJ will release weekly rankings in this big school and small school format.
