Indians win in the same fashion as Thursday’s loss to the Bulldogs

HALLETTSVILLE – Ganado flipped the script on Thorndale Saturday, defeating the Bulldogs 12-2 in a deciding Game 3 of a Class 2A regional semifinal series.

Thursday in Bastrop, Thorndale (32-3-1) used a six-run first inning in Game 2 to defeat the Indians 12-1.

Ganado (24-6) returned the favor Saturday with a seven-run second inning. However, only three of those runs were earned as four were scored off Thorndale errors.

The Bulldogs committed four total errors, which contributed to half of the Indians’ 12 runs.

Thorndale piled up four hilts from singles by Kaden Kovar, Nathan Grimm, Lance Pesl and Brenson Beran.

Kovar drove in a run on a single in the bottom of the first inning and Pesl drove in another in the bottom of the fifth.

Ganado added five more runs in the top of the seventh to secure the Indians spot in next week’s regional finals.
