Bowie’s bats are heating up at the right time.
Creighton signee Anya German on Monday blasted a two-run home run in the first inning, while Cadie Hays jacked a grand slam in the third to help the red-hot Bulldogs defeat Lake Travis for the second time in four days.
Bowie held off a late Lake Travis surge to beat the Cavs 7-6 in a District 26-6A playoff at Cavalier Field to claim the No. 2 seed.
The Bulldogs will face District 25-6A third-place Stony Point in the first round of the playoffs, while Lake Travis will face district runner-up Vista Ridge.
Bowie and Stony Point will play a best-of-three series at the Noack Sports Complex. Games 1 and 2 are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday, respectively. If needed, a third game will be played Saturday at noon.
No information was available for Lake Travis’ playoff with Vista Ridge. Softball and baseball teams have the option to play one game or a three-game series in each round of the postseason.
