Here are the On the Sidelines Sports Austin metro area boys and girls basketball Players of the Week for the Week of Jan. 15-19. Players are nominated by their coaches and chosen by On the Sidelines Sports Executive Director Michael Adams.

Girls Basketball Player of the Week

Katie Peiffer, Round Rock, junior guard

Peiffer had herself a week last week, averaging 20 points per game with 10 total three-point field goals in victories over Cedar Ridge and Vista Ridge last week. The junior had 13 points in Round Rock’s win over Cedar Ridge and 27 in the Lady Dragons’ win over Vista Ridge on Friday.

Boys Basketball Player of the Week

Josiah Mosley, Stony Point, , senior guard

The Villanova signee put on a clinic in Friday’s 72-56 win over Manor. Mosley scored a game-high 36 points to go with 13 rebounds, six assists and five blocks. On Tuesday, in Stony Point’s 101-53 win over McNeil, the senior star had 29 points to go with nine rebounds and three assists.

Each week, for the remainder of the regular season, On the Sidelines Sports will select a Player of the Week for both boys and girls basketball. Coaches are strongly encouraged to submit nominations by Saturday evening each week by emailing the player’s name, position, class and any pertinent stats for the week to madams@onthesidelinessports.com.
