The UIL released on Tuesday enrollment figures from UIL Snapshot Day on Oct. 27, 203. The numbers will determine classification cutoffs from 2024-2026 for the biannual redistricting, scheduled for Feb. 1, 2024.
In 2022, the Class 6A cuttoff was 2225 and above. Typically, the bottom number increases with each redistricting. If the number stays the same, Leander High School could make the jump to Class 6A. Leander ISD submitted an enrollment of 2270 for Leander.
With an enrollment of 1,994, Wiess will most likely drop down to Class 5A-Division I for football and Class 5A for all other sports and place the Wolves in a district with the other three Pflugerville ISD schools.
Austin ISD schools Northeast (1,226), Travis (1197.5), Ann Richards (868), LBJ (773) and Eastside (694) will likely drop to Class 4A from Class 5A. The school district submitted numbers below the 2022 cutoff for Class 5A. However, Austin ISD has traditionally opted schools up to Class 5A.
Thrall may also be on the move and make the jump to Class 3A from 2A. Thrall ISD submitted an enrollment of 274, which is 24 students above the 2022 3A cutoff.
